Army’s Stern Warning to Enemies: The 8-Year Defeat Will Be Repeated
Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, on the eve of Sacred Defense Week, referenced the valuable experience gained by the Armed Forces against the Ba’athist regime of Iraq. He stated: “Enemies must know that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic are fully prepared to defend the country and the Iranian nation.” He emphasized that in the event of any renewed aggression, the enemy will receive a far more crushing and extensive response, utilizing new equipment and tactics. Ultimately, just as in the eight years of Sacred Defense, they will taste the bitter defeat and leave the region in humiliation and disgrace.
Recounting the Epic of September 22: The Army’s First Response
In commemorating the memory of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic and the martyred commanders of the Armed Forces, the Army spokesperson referred to the Army’s steadfastness in the early days of the war, stating: “The gallant Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran reacted decisively within the first hours of the Ba’athist regime’s aggression.” Brigadier General Akraminia added: “The swift-flying eagles of the Air Force descended upon the aggressors just two hours after the Ba’athist regime’s incursion on September 22, 1980, dealing a crushing blow.”
Outlining the Army’s Sacred Defense Week Programs
Describing the programs for this week, the Army spokesperson announced that, in addition to field visits by unit commanders to the families of esteemed martyrs and the cleansing of their holy graves, honoring the veterans of the Sacred Defense era is a priority.
Transmitting Wartime Experiences to the Younger Generation
Highlighting the importance of storytelling and narrative, Brigadier General Akraminia said: “With the goal of transferring operational experience and knowledge to the younger generation, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army is holding explanatory sessions at all its training centers and universities.” In these sessions, Army commanders and veterans will join students to recount the various dimensions of the Sacred Defense and the bravery of the combatants.
Commemorating Martyr Lieutenant General Mousavi and Unveiling New Works
Among other significant Army initiatives during this period is the closing ceremony of the “Iranian Youth Festival,” which is dedicated to examining the personality traits of the late Lieutenant General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, the former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Furthermore, during Sacred Defense Week, the latest books published by the Army regarding the first, second, and third defenses will be unveiled, and television documentaries produced by the Army’s Public Relations Department will be broadcast on national media.
Brigadier General Akraminia concluded by noting: “Relying on divine power, the support of the gallant Iranian nation, and the lessons learned from past resistance, the Army stands today at the highest level of self-confidence and combat readiness.”
