According to IRNA, Rear Admiral Ali Azmaie, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, announced a successful operation on Thursday evening, September 10, 2026. He emphasized that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is a “red line” for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Referring to the violation of maritime borders by foreign espionage equipment, Rear Admiral Azmaie stated: “An unmanned spy vessel belonging to the terrorist US Army, identified as a ‘Saildrone’ (hull number 5838), was detected and struck by our operational units in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Emphasizing that the Strait of Hormuz is fully under the control and intelligence surveillance of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he added: “By utilizing intelligent control systems, we monitor all maritime traffic. We warn all enemies that any hostile move in this strategic waterway will be met with a decisive and immediate response and will be targeted.”
