Iran’s Decisive Response to Washington’s Threats; Warning Regarding the Security of the Strait of Hormuz
According to IRNA, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, issued a forthright message on his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), challenging the United States’ policies of pressure and threats while reaffirming the Islamic Republic of Iran’s security and economic red lines.
Referring to the history of past confrontations between the two nations, he emphasized: “You have failed in the military war; you will also be defeated in the economic war. The Strait of Hormuz will not be opened through threats or pressure. Iran will not retreat.”
The Invalidity of Western Assessments and the Futility of Media Propaganda
In another part of his message, Mohsen Rezaei addressed the claims and positions of Western parties, writing: “The delusional forecasts from the West have lacked any technical or political credibility from the very beginning.” He further emphasized that recent media campaigns and propaganda are short-lived and will lead nowhere.
Strategic Balance in the Persian Gulf; The Failure of Sanctions and Threats
Once again outlining the coordinates of the balance of power in the region, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council warned American policymakers that sanction tools and economic pressure levers would not be able to alter the equations in the Persian Gulf, and that the security of the Strait of Hormuz would not become a function of calculations based on pressure and threats—a statement reflecting the continuation of Iran’s strategy of “active resistance” and the immutability of its defensive stance against mounting external pressures.
