Details of Naval Mine Strike on Second Violating Supertanker
The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) reported a new incident involving another non-compliant vessel, announcing that a second violating supertanker was engulfed in a massive blaze this morning after striking a naval mine.
According to the report, the vessel was carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil and “attempted an illegal transit under the deception of the aggressive U.S. military by turning off all tracking and radar systems.” This action led to a mine strike, a massive explosion in the engine room, and the vessel coming to a complete standstill.
Escalating Maritime Crisis for Non-Compliant Vessels
This incident follows an earlier report by the IRGCN this morning detailing a similar casualty, in which another violating supertanker carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil struck a mine and caught fire during an unauthorized transit attempt through the Strait of Hormuz.
