Martyr Dr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani was a graduate of Computer Science from Sharif University of Technology and held a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tehran. Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he began his social and revolutionary activities at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 1982, and served during the Sacred Defense up to the position of Deputy Chief of the IRGC General Staff. In subsequent decades, he held numerous key responsibilities, including Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Head of the IRIB, Representative of the Supreme Leader, and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and served as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly for three consecutive terms over a period of 12 years.
Following years of service in legislative spheres and state expediency councils, he was appointed for the second time as the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council by presidential decree in August 2025 (Mordad 1404). Amid regional developments and the Ramadan War, Dr. Larijani played a pivotal role in the strategic coordination of the Resistance Front through diplomatic visits and proactive media and security stances. After years of struggle and service in the fields of culture, politics, and security, he was finally martyred in March 2026 (Esfand 1404) following a terrorist act and airstrike by the Zionist regime.
