Martyr Lieutenant General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi was a prominent military figure of the Islamic Republic of Iran who joined the Army in 1979 (1358) and had an active presence of approximately 96 months on the western and southwestern fronts during the Sacred Defense, particularly in artillery units. In the post-war years, he also served in various command roles within the Army and was recognized for his revolutionary spirit, military discipline, and loyalty to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.<br><br>Continuing his path of service, he attained one of the country’s highest military positions, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and in this capacity played an important role in coordinating and leading the armed forces. His name and memory have been recorded across various sources as a commander loyal to the leadership (Velayat-oriented), principled in ethics, and a continuation of the path of the martyred commanders of the Sacred Defense; and his martyrdom during the military events of 2026 (1405) had widespread coverage across the media and public opinion.
