Washington’s Miscalculation and Tel Aviv’s Provocative Role
Major General Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that U.S. President Donald Trump’s assessments and calculations regarding Iran’s defensive power and resolve were completely erroneous. He pointed out that the warmongering and ignition of the current conflict were orchestrated through direct provocation by Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the Zionist regime. He emphasized that agreeing to Iran’s reasonable terms is Washington’s only way out of this quagmire, as the policy of threats will yield no results.
Precise Knowledge of U.S. Military Vulnerabilities and Anti-Ship Missile Test
Reiterating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has prepared itself for a decisive and full-scale confrontation, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council stated: “Tehran possesses complete intelligence on the organizational and operational vulnerabilities of the U.S. military, and our deterrence and air defense capabilities against airstrikes are stronger than ever. The unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the memorandum of understanding was a turning point that drove Iran toward a fundamental reassessment of its strategy in confronting Washington.”
Within this context, Major General Rezaee revealed recent decisive action, announcing that Iran recently conducted a successful test of an advanced anti-ship missile in close proximity to an American aircraft carrier. He explicitly stated: “We will not compromise with anyone when it comes to defending our national security. If targeted, U.S. military bases and all of its regional interests will come under heavier and far more extensive fire.”
Relaying Tehran’s Conditions via Qatari and Pakistani Mediators
Addressing diplomatic pathways to restore calm in the region, Major General Rezaee stated that consultations with international mediators—particularly Qatar and Pakistan—continue uninterrupted, with Tehran’s red lines and preconditions clearly communicated to them. The Qatari mediator has delivered Iran’s conditions for establishing a ceasefire and containing the crisis to the White House, and the response now rests with U.S. officials.
According to the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, the primary conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran include:
- Complete and permanent cessation of military operations across all fronts
- Lifting of the illegal naval blockade
- Unconditional unfreezing of blocked Iranian assets
Nuclear Stance and the Potential Reassessment of International Treaties
Regarding the ramifications of ongoing Western pressure, he noted: “Hostile joint actions by the United States and the Zionist regime have created the necessary legal grounds for Iran’s withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT); however, the establishment has not made a decision to exit this treaty to date, and Washington’s future conduct will be decisive in this regard.”
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council added: “Adherence to the religious fatwa of the Leadership prohibiting weapons of mass destruction remains intact, and our nuclear defense doctrine has undergone no change; however, anticipating future developments requires monitoring the opposing side’s actions.”
Welcoming Peace in Yemen
In the concluding part of his remarks, Major General Rezaee addressed the crisis in the Arabian Peninsula, stating: “Tehran has consistently supported the end of hostilities between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and the Yemeni parties possess sufficient motivation to achieve a just agreement and lasting peace with Riyadh.”
