Moments ago, a modern air defense system belonging to the IRGC Aerospace Force intercepted and destroyed an advanced MQ-1 drone belonging to extra-regional forces in the skies east of the Strait of Hormuz (opposite Sirik).

According to an official statement by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country’s air defense units have once again demonstrated their might and operational readiness in safeguarding the airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Based on this report, an advanced invading drone was targeted by air defense fire in a strategic zone.
According to the IRGC media office, this security-defense incident occurred a short while ago. In this successful operation, the 14th advanced MQ-1 drone, which intended to infiltrate and gather intelligence in the country’s airspace, was identified.
Through intelligence vigilance and precise tracking by the advanced air defense system of the IRGC Aerospace Force—operating under the tactical control of the country’s integrated air defense network—this invading aircraft was locked onto by radar in the skies east of the Strait of Hormuz (the general area opposite Sirik) and was completely destroyed and shot down by a successful surface-to-air missile strike.
The destruction of this advanced aircraft in one of the world’s most sensitive and vital waterways (the Strait of Hormuz) is clear testimony to the comprehensive dominance of the Iranian Armed Forces’ radar and air defense networks over regional developments. This event once again proved that any movement or aggression by hostile aircraft in Iranian skies and peripheral zones will be met with a decisive, rapid, and crushing response from indigenous air defense systems.
