Armed Forces’ Full Control Over the Strategic Southern Waterways

According to the Public Relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, assessed the readiness and intelligence coverage of the Army, IRGC, and Basij naval and ground forces along the Persian Gulf coasts, the islands, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Sea of Oman during his regional inspections.

Expressing appreciation for the devoted combatants of the Army, IRGC, and Basij, he stated that the Iranian Armed Forces are monitoring all enemy movements in this region with exceptional capability.

The Situation in the Strait of Hormuz and a Warning to Violating Vessels

Referring to the propaganda claims made by US leaders that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is free and open, Major General Abdollahi declared that, contrary to this narrative, the strategic waterway is entirely under the control, surveillance, and management of the powerful IRGC Navy.

Emphasizing that no vessel will be permitted to pass through this waterway outside Iran’s approved arrangements, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces warned explicitly:

“Any violating vessel that attempts to navigate outside the designated route and Iranian arrangements, for whatever reason, will have its security compromised and will suffer serious damage.”

Operational Readiness in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman

During another part of his visit to the Sea of Oman coasts, while reviewing the status of the Army’s naval and ground units, Major General Abdollahi stressed that the Army units, with high readiness and morale, maintain complete vigilance and oversight over the open waters of the Sea of Oman and its coasts.

He concluded by noting that the Iranian Armed Forces are present in the Persian Gulf, the islands, the Strait of Hormuz, and the coasts of the Sea of Oman with newer equipment and far greater readiness than in the past, and are prepared to confront any potential enemy mischief or aggression with full force.
